Yokan is a traditional Japanese sweet made from red bean paste, and Eiyokan is its emergency-ration version — ideal as outdoor emergency food or for a quick energy boost in the mountains. It keeps well, so you can simply take it home if you do not eat it. We deliver it together with your bear spray for 1,000 yen. This is a purchase, not a rental, so there is no need to return it.
We will sponsor the 46th Tsukuba University Competition, hosted by the University of Tsukuba Orienteering Club, lending bear sprays to the event staff for their safety. Our service is also introduced in the official event guidelines.
On 25 August 2026 Japan's Ministry of the Environment published its recommended performance requirements for bear spray (Japanese only). Our UDAP Pepper Power and Kuma Ichimokusan models broadly meet these requirements. The POLICE MAGNUM B-609 is classified as a personal-defense spray, but its manufacturer states that it is also effective against bears, so it remains available to choose once you have confirmed that you understand and agree to this. We only carry bear spray from trusted manufacturers in Japan and overseas. Expiration dates are strictly managed, and any canister that has lost 2% of its weight since we received it is immediately replaced to avoid running out of gas.

Most hotels in Japan will hold a package for a guest even without prior arrangement, so this is optional — but some do refuse. If you'd rather be sure, we contact your hotel in Japanese and confirm it for you, and if they decline, we refund your order in full.

Bear spray is classified as a "high-pressure gas" and "toxic substance." If found at airport security, it will be confiscated and disposed of immediately. For details, please check the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism website.

*IMPORTANT: If you are staying at an Airbnb or vacation rental, you MUST contact your host in advance to confirm the exact mailing address and get their permission to receive packages on your behalf.
Option: Hotel delivery permission request (+500 JPY / order). Most hotels in Japan will hold a package for a guest even without prior arrangement, so in practice you rarely need to do anything — but some hotels do refuse to accept packages for guests. If you'd rather be sure, select this option when you book and we will contact your hotel in Japanese and confirm it for you. If they decline, we cancel the booking and refund your order in full. Hotels and inns only — Airbnb and vacation rentals are not eligible.
Simply pack the bear spray back into the box it arrived in, attach the provided prepaid shipping label, and drop it off at a 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, or Yamato Transport office in Japan. Please note that Lawson and Seicomart do not accept Yamato Transport shipments, so they cannot be used for the return.
If none of these are near you, your hotel's front desk can often send the package on your behalf — just ask at check-out. If that's not possible either, please contact us and we'll help you arrange the return.
